AASA’s Urban Superintendent Academy Graduates 53 School Leaders

Fifty-three educators have completed AASA’s Urban Superintendents Academy programs that are co-sponsored by two major universities located on both coasts.

The academy graduates will be recognized during an evening reception on Thursday, Feb. 13, following the 1st General Session at AASA’s 2020 National Conference on Education in San Diego.

The Urban Superintendents Academy is a cross-institutional partnership for urban superintendent preparation and certification. AASA has launched distinct partnerships with Howard University and the University of Southern California to bolster the effectiveness of school district leadership in our nation’s urban areas.

Thirty-three school leaders were part of the AASA/Howard University Urban Superintendents Academy cohort. Another 20 leaders were participants in the AASA/USC Urban Superintendents Academy cohort. For more details, including the names of those marking the completion of their cohort programs, see the official AASA press release.
