Three Friends of AASA Recognized with an Annual Honor at 2nd General Session

The AASA Friend of Education award was accorded to three individuals who do not work directly for K-12 education organizations at the 2nd General Session of the AASA national conference in Nashville on Friday morning.

The recipients were:

  • Gregg Behr, executive director of the Grable Foundation;
  • Emily Oster, professor of economics at Brown University; and
  • Robert McCord, retired AASA academic in residence.

This award each year goes to non-educators or individuals working outside of school districts who have consistently supported the mission of AASA and have given their time and effort to help the association advocate for public education and assist with the professional development of members.

Complete details about the three honorees are available in the AASA press release.
