Those who served in the past as presidents of AASA get a moment in the limelight at the association’s 2nd General Session.
On Friday, 14 of the former elected leaders dating back 30 years were introduced by the immediate past president Chris Gaines.
He said he was pleased to introduce “all those who worked so hard on behalf of this great association in their role as president. As immediate past president, I am honored to now be part of this group. We have a great history, and we have built on that history from those who went before us. Every year we have folks who step forward and run for president and once elected they travel widely representing our profession.”
In addition to Gaines, the past presidents on hand in San Diego were: A. Dean Speicher, 1989-90; Robert P. Fox, 1993-94; Daniel A. Domenech, 1998-99; Donald L. Kussmaul, 2004-05; Don Hooper, 2005-06; Eugene White, 2006-07; Sarah D. Jerome, 2007-08; Mark T. Bielang, 2009-10; Patricia E. Neudecker, 2011-12; Benny L. Gooden 2012-13; David K. Pennington, 2014-15; David R. Schuler, 2015-16; Alton L. Frailey, 2016–17; Gail Pletnick, 2017-18.
