AASA’s conference bookstore will feature 200 of the latest titles in educational leadership and student learning.
Located in the Hall A lobby near AASA registration, the bookstore will be organized into 10 categories, including district management, technology/social media, student achievement and the recommended reading of AASA Executive Director Dan Domenech. Books written by AASA members over the past several years are among the stocked titles.
Merchandise featuring the AASA logo includes bow ties, long-sleeved I Love Public Education t-shirts, scarves, polo shirts, visors and reading pins. AASA will cover the full cost of shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. for any bookstore purchases of $200 or more.
The store will host book signings by five authors. On Thursday, Feb. 13, New York Times columnist David Brooks will sign books at 6:30 p.m. following his talk at the 1st General Session.
On Friday, Feb. 14, 2nd General Session keynoter Linda Darling-Hammond will sign from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Ithaca, N.Y. Superintendent Luvelle Brown will follow from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Harvard educator Susan Moore Johnson will round out the day’s signings from 4:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
A Saturday, Feb. 15 signing session will feature 3rd General Session keynoter Mawi Asgedom from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The bookstore will be open Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 2 to 5 p.m.; Thursday, Feb. 13 from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 15 from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
