AASA’s Governing Board ratified its Beliefs and Position Statements that undergird the work of AASA’s public policy staff when handling advocacy work on Capitol Hill during its meeting in San Diego on Wednesday.

With about 115 members from seven regions participating in the meeting, the association’s governing body approved the wording of position statements addressing licensure for administrators, portability of professional credentials, early education programs and safe and secure facilities, among other subjects.

In other actions at its meeting, the AASA Governing Board:

• Approved a slight increase in dues for AASA membership;
• Approved the candidacies of Paul Imhoff and Candace Singh to run for AASA president-elect;
• Approved the federal legislative agenda for the next year; and
• Received a state-of-the-association report from Executive Director Daniel Domenech.
