The superintendent in Guilford County, N.C., and an assistant superintendent in Colorado Springs, Colo., were recognized Friday morning as the recipients of the 2022 Women in School Leadership Awards.
The honors were presented during the 2nd General Session of the AASA National Conference on Education in Nashville, Tenn.
The winner in the superintendent category was Sharon Contreras, superintendent, Guilford County Schools, Greensboro, N.C.
The recipient in the central office/principal award was Susan Field, assistant superintendent for learning services, Academy District 20, Colorado Springs, Colo.
The awards are co-sponsored by Horace Mann and AASA.
