Providing greater opportunities to educators can positively affect students’ learning.

Emanuel Frazier, an assistant superintendent with the Bibb County School District in Georgia, hosted a roundtable discussion Friday at the AASA national conference, where he shared his district’s journey in providing educators with meaningful opportunities on the job that will lead to better student  achievement.

“We [Bibb School District] know that if we’re going to develop those students to be world-class students, we got to have world-class leaders in that building,” Frazier said.

These opportunities include mentoring programs for new teachers in the district.

“If you give people the training they need, the retention will take care of itself,” he said.
