Alaska Leader Takes Reins of Horace Mann League for 2020-21

The 98th annual meeting of the Horace Mann League in San Diego will host the installation of officers and board members for 2020-21.

The public education advocacy group’s function will take place on Friday, Feb. 14, at the Marriott Marquis. The HML traditionally holds its annual meeting during the AASA national conference.

The group’s incoming officers are:

President: Lisa Parady, executive director of the Alaska Council of School Administrators

President-elect: James Harvey, executive director of the National Superintendents Roundtable

Vice President: Ruben Alejandro, retired superintendent of the Weslaco School District in Texas

Past President: Laurie Barron, superintendent of the Evergreen School District in Montana

Installed as a new member of the HML board will be Beth Houf, principal of Fulton Middle Schools in Missouri.

Reappointed to the HML board will be Martin Brooks, executive director of the Tri-State Educational Consortium in New York; Talisa Dixon, superintendent in Columbus, Ohio; and Brent Clark, executive director of the Illinois Association of School Administrators.

Jack McKay serves as the longtime director of the Horace Mann League.
