Sharon L. Contreras, superintendent of the Guilford County School District in Greensboro, N.C., discussed how school districts can build diverse talent pipelines at a Thought Leader session Thursday, Feb. 17.

Contreras said it is important to create school models in which you can retain experienced teachers. Her district has an aspiring leaders program that aims to develop transformational leaders.
