Long-term Dedication Defines Three Recipients of AASA’s Distinguished Service Award

Three individuals will be recognized with AASA’s Distinguished Service Award during the 2nd General Session of the association’s National Conference on Education in San Antonio, Texas.

The three honorees are:

  • Paul W. Imhoff, a public educator for over 30 years. Imhoff was an Ohio superintendent for 16 years, serving the Mariemont Schools in Cincinnati and the Upper Arlington Schools in Columbus. He was Ohio Superintendent of the Year in 2018 and president of AASA in 2021-22. He serves now as director of government relations for the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, Ohio’s superintendent association.
  • Paul Kinder, former superintendent of the Blue Springs R-IV School District in Blue Springs, Mo. Kinder is a 41-year educator who retired in 2021. He spent 38 of those years in administration with 22 of them as a superintendent in three different school districts in two different states. He served as president of the Missouri Association of School Administrators in 2009-10 and was Missouri Superintendent of the Year in 2007.
  • Donna L. Wright, a veteran of 40-plus years as a public school educator. She was 2020 Tennessee Superintendent of the Year while serving as superintendent of Wilson County, Tenn., a post she assumed in 2014 and filled until her retirement in 2022.
