Approximately 85 AASA conference attendees made an early start to Day 1 in New Orleans. And their primary goal was some vigorous exercise and fellowship.

The annual 5K Fun Run/Walk started at 6 a.m. Thursday on the opening morning of the 2025 conference from a starting point in front of the Canal Place Building.  The route took them along the Mississippi River waterfront.

The event wrapped up by 7 a.m., with no reportable casualties, according to event organizer Noelle Ellerson Ng, an AASA staff member and runner.

The registration fee of $10 got everyone an event T-shirt.
