Pause for Learning Design for Leading

Yesterday’s first sessions started with an important reminder from Dr. Greco to take a moment to pause and give oneself time to think. In the day to day work we move from one decision to the next and it is difficult to learn something next in the midst of doing the work. I approached my day with that goal.

After a full day of learning and thinking and a good night’s rest the things I want to remember are:

Leaders that make lasting impact approach their leadership with the mindset of an architect.

Leaders with this mindset design the systems with the structures and processes that will help accelerate continuous improvement.

We lead people and manage projects so our processes must be frequent and timely focused on supporting and responding to the people doing the work and the students receiving our services.
