[Podcast] The Stressed Leader’s Journey feat. Dan Stecken

Dan Stecken

Dan Stecken has served as superintendent of Seneca Township High School in Seneca, Ill., since 2020. In this episode, he shares how his own personal journey has affected his emphasis on work-life balance in his district.

After experiencing his own health scare and hearing from a friend who was receiving death threats as a superintendent, Stecken has made wellness a focus in his personal and professional lives.

Listen for some of the habits and tactics that he uses for productivity, as well as his mindset on stress and boundaries.

Stecken led a roundtable session at the National Conference on Education in New Orleans Thursday morning on this same topic. He also creates the Stressed Leader's Substack, on which he offers strategies and support for education leaders navigating the complexities of their roles.
