During the 2nd General Session on Friday, conference attendees watched a video about the 2018 Lifetouch Memory Mission, an opportunity to volunteer on a school-building project in the Caribbean.
In the aftermath, many conference attendees filled out an application to participate in the next Lifetouch Memory Mission – which is slated for Puerto Rico, probably early in 2019, and Saturday morning a name was drawn for an all-expense paid-trip for one lucky volunteer.
The winner: Kellie Sanders, chief academic officer of the School District of New Berlin in Wisconsin and the co-author of two books, The Courage to Lead: Choosing the Road Less Travelled and The Courage to Grow: Leading with Intentionality. She will participate compliments of Lifetouch, AASA’s official association photographer.
Also expected to participate will be at least one AASA staff member and possibly other members plus representatives of other national education organizations.
