Social Media Lounge Serves as Central Networking Hub in Exhibit Hall

Now in its sixth year, the Social Media Lounge offers activities and learning sessions for conference-goers who are interested in expanding their social media literacy and expanding their social networking for professional growth.

Located in the middle of the exhibit hall, AASA’s Social Media Lounge offers a fun, relaxing spot to experience hands-on training, share tips and tricks, snap selfies and create relationships that will last beyond the conference.

“The AASA social media team is privileged to host another social media lounge at #NCE2020. Our members are looking for connections on a personal level, building a community of social ‘workmates,' sharing ideas and best practices, and impacting decisions at the national level,” said Gayane Minasyan, online technologies director, AASA. “We continuously welcome new suggestions how education leaders can step into top leadership roles and become the voice of a district through national engagement and amplification of messaging.”

Sponsored by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the lounge’s activities are led by social media-savvy superintendents whose efforts have paved the way for others to follow, not just within their school districts but also for other education leaders to share ideas, network and learn from one another.

Attendees can look forward to breakout sessions covering social media’s role in emergency management, TikTok and other relevant topics.

All conference attendees are encouraged to include #NCE2020 in their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram posts and to join the official National Conference on Education Facebook Group to share photos and videos, participate in topical discussions and discover what colleagues are doing at the conference.
