Two Education Attorneys Picked for First Friend of AASA Awards

Jacinda H. Conboy, general counsel with the New York State Council of School Superintendents, and Marie Sneed, partner with Washington, D.C.-based Hogan Lovells U.S., are the 2020 recipients of the first Friend of AASA Award. They will receive their awards at the 2nd General Session of the AASA national conference on Friday in San Diego.

Champions for Equity to Receive Effie Jones Humanitarian Award

Steven T. Webb, superintendent of Vancouver Public Schools, and the late Joe A. Hairston, former associate professor at Howard University and co-founder of the AASA/Howard University Urban Superintendents Academy, will be recognized as Dr. Effie H.
